3.3%

Background

"3.3%" follows "33 HRS" on SNVRKOLEPSY and turns the album toward money and leverage. Its title credit to Martin Shkreli appears on the release;^[1] SNVRK has described Shkreli's part as "purely cultural" — a symbol of notoriety and financial disruption — and says he does not perform on the track.^[2]

Composition

Produced by Godzay and SNVRK, the song is starker than the album's opener, built on distorted guitar and fragments of crowd chatter. According to its credits on the SNVRK Wiki, the vocal was recorded through Slate Digital's Virtual Microphone System for a dry, "boardroom" tone.^[2]
