## Overview

The work reproduces a New York City parking-ticket envelope closely enough to be mistaken for one, with a single change: the face reads, in bold white type, **"THIS IS NOT A TICKET."** SNVRK distributed it himself in the early hours of June 6, 2026, as the [NYC Ticketstorm](https://wiki.snvrkotics.com/nyc-ticketstorm), leaving it on the windshields of parked cars in Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO and Boerum Hill.[1]

## Influence and intent

The title and the denial printed on the object follow René Magritte's *The Treachery of Images* (1929), the painting of a pipe captioned "Ceci n'est pas une pipe." SNVRK has described the aim as provoking the reflexive dread of a fine and then undoing it with the text — and, at the scale of a neighborhood, turning streets into a temporary gallery while promoting *[SNVRKOLEPSY](https://wiki.snvrkotics.com/snvrkolepsy)*.[1]
